FOR THEM TO ONLY TAKE LARGE SUMS OF MONEY OF YOUR CREDIT CARD OR KEEP YOUR BOND FOR REASONS THAT ARE NOT YOUR FAULT.   BOB THE MANAGER IS COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT AND SHOULD NOT WORK IN RESERVATIONS, LET ALONE BE A MANAGER. BOTH PARTNER AND I ARE BLUECHIP MEMBERS AND THEREFOR NO BONDS HAVE EVER BEEN REQUIRED FROM ANY OTHER THRIFTY BRANCHES, ESPECIALLY MYSELF RENTING A LARGE AMOUNT OF CARS OVER THE YEARS. BOB INSISTED WE HAVE TO PAY A $750 BOND TO BE ABLE TO RENT THE CAR. THIS WAS BECAUSE MY PARTNER HAD THE WRONG PHONE NUMBER LISTED ON HER MEMBERSHIP AND SHE UPDATED IT IMMEDIATELY, HE STILL CANCELLED THE RESERVATION WITHOUT OUR CONSENT.

  They would not refund our $500 deposit and immediately took $1100 from my card. I have raised disputed transactions with my bank and have managed to recover the $500 so far with the $1100 pending.

  When we picked up the truck, Bob, the attendant, went through the usual process including outlining the current damage, which was extensive, although mostly superficial. When at the front of the vehicle, Bob referred to chips in the windscreen and some damage to the front of the pantec, explaining this as minor in nature. I was very surprised when, upon returning the vehicle, Bob suggested that I had caused this damage, as I was not aware of any collision on my behalf and I recalled there being damage when I picked up the vehicle. On further investigation, I also found that damage to the pantec was described on the condition report, having occurred in October just before our rental.
